FAQ

Questions about suspension & steering

Any time you replace tires, after suspension work, after hitting a major pothole or curb, or if you notice the steering wheel isn't straight or the car pulls. Most vehicles benefit from a check every year regardless.
Usually 80,000–150,000 km, but they wear gradually so you may not notice the decline. A good test: push down hard on each corner of the car. If it bounces more than once or twice after you let go, the shock is done.
Sometimes — if alignment is the cause. But pulling can also come from uneven tire pressure, a sticking brake caliper or even one bad tire. We diagnose the actual cause before recommending an alignment.
Significantly. Worn shocks, struts or alignment issues can wear a $200 tire down in half its expected life. Fixing suspension issues actually saves money on tires.
