Differential Service

Power, smooth and silent.

Your differential transfers power from the driveshaft to the wheels and lets them turn at different speeds in corners. Front, rear, AWD, 4WD or limited-slip — they all need clean fluid to run quietly and last. We service every type.

  • All differential types — open, LSD, locking
  • AWD, 4WD, FWD and RWD service
  • Transfer case fluid change
  • OEM-spec gear oils only
DIFFERENTIAL

Our Differential services

Everything we cover — done right, the first time.

Differential Fluid Service

Drain old fluid, inspect magnetic plug for metal, refill with OEM-spec gear oil.

Limited-Slip Service

LSD diffs need a specific friction modifier — we use the right fluid for your make.

Transfer Case Service

4WD and AWD vehicles have a transfer case that needs separate fluid changes.

Bearings & Seals

Differential bearings and seals are inspected with every service. Leaks caught early are cheap fixes.

Diagnosis

Whining, clunking or vibration? We pinpoint whether it's differential, driveline or wheel bearing.

AWD & 4WD Service

Modern AWD systems need fluid changes in front diff, rear diff AND transfer case — we do all three.

WATCH FOR THESE

Signs your vehicle needs attention

Catch issues early and you save money. Wait too long and small problems become big ones. If you notice any of these — give us a call.

Whining or humming that changes pitch with vehicle speed
Clunking or banging on acceleration or in turns
Vibration at highway speeds
Fluid leak under the rear or front of the vehicle
AWD or 4WD warning light on the dashboard
It's been 60,000+ km on factory differential fluid
You tow regularly or drive in rough conditions
HOW WE WORK

No surprises. No upsells. No work without your approval.

1

Inspect

Visual check for leaks, fluid level and condition. Magnetic plug examined for metal debris.

2

Old fluid drained and inspected — its color and smell tell us a lot.

3

OEM-spec gear oil — with the right friction modifier for LSD if applicable.

4

FAQ

Questions about differential

Most manufacturers recommend every 60,000–100,000 km for normal driving, sooner if you tow, drive in dust, water or off-road. Check your owner's manual or ask us — we'll look it up.
Open diffs let one wheel spin freely (cheap, fuel-efficient). Limited-slip transfers some power to the wheel with grip (better in snow/rain). Lockers can lock both wheels together (off-road). Each uses a different fluid.
AWD vehicles have THREE separate gear-oil reservoirs — front differential, rear differential and transfer case. All three need scheduled service. Most owners don't know this; we'll check yours.
A faint whine might be early-warning — get it checked soon. Loud whining, clunking or vibration means damage is already happening. Continued driving can destroy gears and bearings (very expensive repair).
