FAQ

Questions about brakes

Anywhere from 40,000 to 100,000+ km depending on your driving style, vehicle weight and pad type. City driving with lots of stop-and-go wears pads faster than highway driving. We'll measure remaining pad thickness at every visit so you always know where you stand.
Not always. If your rotors are above minimum thickness and in good shape, we can resurface them and just replace pads. But heavily worn or warped rotors get replaced together with pads for safety and to protect the new pads.
Brake fluid absorbs water over time, which lowers its boiling point and damages internal components. Most manufacturers recommend a flush every 2–3 years. If your pedal feels softer than it used to, that's often the cause.
Yes. Grinding usually means the pad is gone and metal is hitting metal — every stop is damaging the rotor and reducing your stopping power. Stop driving and call us. We'll get you in same-day for most brake emergencies.
